![]() What's On around the development, Calasparra & the surrounding area's If you have any interesting news of any forthcoming events etc; Please send the details to me, steve@calasparralife.com **A Meeting is being held to discuss the Conservacion of the Urbanization** Result of the Meeting The Mayor of Calasparra was present and put forward his proposals for the development which were: 1. Setting up of a community body to liase with the town hall 2. Street lighting,General maintenance and the installation of a perimeter fence and entrance barriers to the development for added security. The mayor suggested that an amount of between 5-7 euros per property per month be paid to the town hall to cover the costs for these services and also suggested the use of energy saving bulbs and to reduce the number of lights used. 3. The Mayor also proposed the introduction of a sunday market to be held on the piece of land behind the rubbish bins, which is owned by the town hall.The market would consist of 50 stalls vetted by the town hall,it was also mentioned that it would be policed by the local police and cleaned up afterwards,also signs would be in place advising visitors not to proceed into the urbanization,the mayor stated that the market would be in place for one year as a trial if successful it would be continued. Results of the Meeting are as follows: It was agreed that the majority were not happy to have a committee,and did not want to be caged in like prisoners with a perimeter fence and was accepted by all of the Villa owners present,that we would make an additional payment to cover the cost of the street lighting,street names and the general maintenance of the site etc; A working party ( suggested by the mayor)to be set up to discuss the options as to how to pay for the services mentioned,and will be reporting back at another community meeting with the mayor in a months time ( Date to be decided) ***** ""Work On Cleaning up The Communial Garden Areas has now been completed""Press To Play a Selection of Music Markets: Local Market every Friday for all your fresh food items etc; ( Calasparra ) Local Market every Monday at (Caravaca) Local Market every Tuesday at ( Bullas ) Local Market every Wednesday at Cehegin & Cieza Local Market every Saturday at Moratalla, Archena & Blanca
Local Fiestas:
Patron saints 30th July Semana Santa ( holy week, the week before Easter ) Fiestas Patronales 2nd - 8th Sept. Musical performances and bullfights. The highlight is Encierro or bull running. Every morning at 10am. Feast of Juan Pelotero 28th Dec. Commercial Centre: "Good News" at long last there is action within the Commercial Centre, The New Bar " Bar Cafeteria Trevol " is now open,the bar has a friendly atmosphere warm and welcoming with a selection of Tapas and a selection of beers( Guinness,Murphy's London Pride etc;)Opening times for the bar are (10.00hrs until 0200hrs) 6 days a week( Closed Mondays). The supermarket is now closed a two storey restaurant,which is open also there is a Moroccan Tea Room called " Cafetin Alandalus" Recycling: A full range of recycling bins & bottle bank are now onsite. large household items are being left at the rubbish bins area ( Old fridges,Tv's,Ironing Boards etc;)these are to be taken to the recycling site next to the "Tanatorium" on the road to calasparra. Telephones: Telefonica are currently installing phone lines to properties that request them, unfortunately internet availability via telefonica lines will be available later,at the moment there is no specific date on the internet service. A web-hosting service has now been setup for all of you who would like to display a webpage/site for further details on this please contact Darren at - rednetwifi.com Electricity Connection Charges for Apartments. The total cost of the Meter and Connection charges for the electric to the apartments will be approx : 175.00 € IVA included, this is for each apartment. Electricity Connection Charges for Villas. This will be as above. Water Usage. The use of water from the mains supply for washing your car in the street is strictly forbidden any one caught doing this will face being summoned by the local police, it is also forbidden to fill-up/ top -up swimming pools with water from your main supply. There are plenty of Car wash's in Calasparra which use recycled water and only cost a few euros to use, also anyone having a Swimming Pool constructed should arrange with the Pool constructor the water for the Commissioning of the finished pool and to have a automatic top-up unit fitted to the pool. New Restaurant The location of the restaurant is just on the approach to the development, you will see it on your right hand side ( A Wooden Building) The name will be " La Polvora" This Restaurant is now open for business, reports so far are very favourable on price & quality of food & service, opening times are as follows: Tues - Sun from 9am to 11 pm. *Construction of Swimming Pools* Anyone considering having a swimming pool built MUST obtain the correct permission from the local Town hall before any work commences also to make sure that you have the plans and licence for the pool This should be included in your quotation from the construction company), failure to do this could lead to a fine by the local council should they decide to check up on the Urbanization. Street Lighting - Street lighting this has been dis-connected, we are trying to find out why this has happened. Roof Construction - Villas
There are number of residents with Villas who are converting the existing front porch pergola by way of covering it with a tiled roof construction, the Builder " Cauce" has placed a disclaimer on the site office community notice board, all concerned should read this notice. This is the notice issued by the builder: Cauce Tierra de Sol ( Calasparra) We would like to warn all clients on site of the following: The pergola's at the front of the house,over the terrace area are for decorative purposes only and are not designed to withstand the weight of the concrete tiled roofing. Unless the pergola has been reinforced to do so. The stress caused by such a structure can do damage to the walls and solarium area. We are not liable or cannot be held responsible for any damages caused to the structure of the property once any building works to the house has taken place. Consideration should also be taken into account when having anything of major weight placed on the solarium,ie a jacuzzi, as the weight in one specific place and the vibration caused by the pumps may cause hairline cracks to appear on the property over time! We stress the word may as it could take years or only a few months for this to happen, however we feel obliged to advise you just in case you are deciding to go ahead with any construction work.
